Mycology 101 - Upcoming amateur mycologists can expect to leave this class with a basic understanding of: Contamination and cleaning, Wood and dung loving mushroom growth, Growth cycle of mushrooms, Making liquid culture from liquid culture or spores, Inoculating with spores or liquid culture, How to make PF tek and Techniques to increase yield. Participants will leave with 4 PF Tek grow kits that they have inoculated.
Mycology 102 - Upcoming amateur mycologists can expect to leave this class an understanding of: how to make and utilize fruiting blocks - an industry technique to grow mushrooms, the difference between sterilization and pasteurization as well as when each is appropriate, how grain is used in the mushroom growing process, and methods to seal bags. Participants will leave with 2 - 2.5 lb fruiting blocks, 1 shotgun terrarium, and 2 canning jar lids with self healing injection ports.
